Ashton Town Association Football Club is an English football club based in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Greater Manchester.
The club was formed in 1953 as Makerfield Mill F.C., changing its name to Ashton Town in 1962. It joined the Lancashire Combination in 1971, moved to the Cheshire County League in 1978 and became a founder member of the North West Counties Football League in 1982. Ashton Town has remained in this league ever since, with the exception of 1985-6 when the club played in the Manchester League.
