Landholder or landowner is a holder of the estate in land with considerable rights of ownership or, simply put, an owner of land.
In the old Europe a landholder was usually a nobleman, see landed nobility.
The largest landowner in the United States (2008) is Ted Turner.[1] His holdings total more than 2 million acres (8,100 km2).
