Louise Abeita (E-Yeh-Shure "Blue Corn") is an Isleta Pueblo writer and the author of I am a Pueblo Indian Girl (New York : William Morrow, 1939).
She also had a long career teaching within the BIA school system and continues to be active in Indian education. Louise was born and raised at Isleta Pueblo. Her father, Diego[1] was active in tribal government. Her Mother, Lottie Gunn Abeita, was from Laguna Pueblo.
