Mohd is abbreviation of the name 'Muhammad' which is widely use as a a prefix or suffix to male muslim names in almost all areas of the muslim world. It is originally the name of the last islamic prophet Muhammad, and is used in muslim names as a sign of respect for him. Muhammad means 'praise-worthy' in Arabic. Other variations of Muhammad spelling include Mohd., Muhd, Muhd., Mohammad, Muhamad, and Mohamed.
