[edit] Career
[edit] Early career
Kaźmierczak started his professional career in the 1999–2000 season with Polish side ŁKS Łódź before moving to Piotrcovia Piotrków Trybunalski and then Pogoń Szczecin, before a successful loan spell at Boavista during the 2006–07 season, where he hit five goals in 28 matches. This form brought him to the attention of FC Porto who signed him from Pogoń in July 2007 for a fee of around €1.4m.
[edit] FC Porto
Kaźmierczak struggled to break into the first team at Porto during his first season with the club, being restricted to just 11 appearances as the club won its third successive Liga Sagres title. He also made one appearance in the Champions League, playing 65 minutes as Porto lost 4–1 away to Liverpool.
[edit] Derby County
Kaźmierczak's disappointing first season at Porto saw him linked with a move away from the club and, on 21 July 2008 it was announced that he had joined English Football League Championship side Derby County on a season-long loan with a view to a £1.3m permanent deal. After coming on as a substitute, Kaźmierczak scored his first goal for Derby with a clinical finish against Norwich in a 3–1 win.[1] Kaźmierczak fell out of favour under new Derby manager Nigel Clough, and finished the season with 22 league appearances, scoring twice. Kaźmierczak later revealed his frustration at being left out of the team at Derby, accusing Clough of "not liking foreign [players]", and that "I have made up my mind - I want to leave. It is all over. I am leaving Derby County".[2] Clough responded to Kaźmierczak's accusations, saying "Is that what he said, is it? I have got no problems with foreign players at all. If they have got the right character and they want to fight tooth and nail for Derby County, we will have players whether they are Chinese, American, Spanish – anyone to help us get three points."
