The Alaska Senate Election saw the incumbent senator, Ted Stevens handily win another six year term as Senator. Stevens' margin of victory was well over 67 percent, with his nearest opponent, Democratic candidate Frank Vondersaar earning just over ten percent of the vote. In fact, all of Ted Stevens' opponents held just under a 22 percent share of the vote combined.

This election was a record setter in many ways for Ted Stevens: He earned the highest margin of victory in his career in the Senate, the largest percentage total of his career (besting his 1972 total of 77.3 percent of the vote), and the largest margin of victory for any contested Senate election in the State of Alaska.
