[edit] Who I am
I have a degree in Mathematics and a diploma in Computer Science from Cambridge University. I had a complicated and varied career after that, including teaching computer science and workings as a systems administrator, my last job being IT manager for Apama (UK) Ltd.
I decided to quit computing and become a lawyer (diploma in law at City University, bar vocational course at the College of Law). I have been working as a lawyer in London since 2004 and I now work as a techies' lawyer - giving advice to technology firms and computer scientists of various kinds as well as helping ISP's and those running websites avoid the kinds of legal brickbats the internet can throw at you. I am a strong believer in open rights and support the Open Rights Group who are wonderful people and you should certainly join them.
I try to keep my technical skills up and still do a small amount of systems administration and SQL advisory.
All that (and there's a lot of that) leaves little time for fun beyond the usual socialising, walking, reading and relaxing but I do enjoy indoor climbing (I've yet to have time to get outside). My wikipedia activities are at the moment rather minimal - there are some difficult structural problems with the way that the law articles work which sometime I'd like to put more effort into working out.
